Ultimate Luxury Baby Bag Packs Genius Organization System

GrazeMeet Jacqueline Waggett, mom and founder of PacaPod, an amazing collection of luxury diaper bags that puts practicality and organization first.  She is the sole creator of Pacaod and launched her collection in 2008.  She describes the concept of her diaper handbags as style for the heart and function for the head because they are very practical.  One would never know they are diaper bags from the outside…because the brains are on the inside.  The PacaPod is unique from other handbag designs because the 3 in 1 organization system is completely one-of-a-kind.  Other diaper bags on the market do not offer this stellar organization system made up of smaller sacs to hold essentials, allowing for easy and quick access.  Most baby bags are disappointing because they lack different compartments, thus making it difficult to find certain items when you need them most.

So what inspired Jacqueline to launch PacaPod?  The fact that there was not a bag on the market that allowed her to efficiently pack everything she needed.  Jacqueline says, “I just could not remember all the little things that you need to get out of the house with a baby without having forgotten something vital.”  She had never known anything to pull at her heart strings as much as when her daughter, Isabel, was crying, and Jacqueline wanted to get to whatever was needed with urgency to soothe her.  There was not a bag on the market that allowed her to do this.  She does not consider herself a handbag designer, but more along the lines of being a mom engineering a diaper bag that first and foremost works for the parents while the design element comes afterwards.

GrazeFor us, it was love at first sight with the Firenze, a bag that looks nothing like a diaper bag, but is everything else a woman would want.  An affair of the heart, this bag “in sumptuous leather, no-one will know it is really a baby bag in disguise.”  The Firenze features buttery soft pebbled cowhide leather in natural tones and classic shiny gold hardware.  This designer changing bag, cool bag and handbag all rolled into one comes with a baby changing mat and micro fleece headrest.  The bag can be worn over the shoulder with its two shoulder straps or even messenger style with its across Grazebody strap.  The main pocket of the bag is the inner cargo hold, which stores the unique feeder and changer pods side by side yet hygienically separate.  The Firenze also has one large parent pocket, with inner dividing pockets with a key fob, cell phone pocket, and one top pocket the full length of the bag.  Moms will be seduced by this decadent baby bag because it is absolutely breathtaking in person.  In addition to beauty, it also has brains with its award winning 3 in 1 baby organization system, with changer pod, feeder pod and changing mat.  Available in two colors, chocolate or putty, this is delivered gift wrapped in a ribbon and organza dust bag as the ultimate baby gift.  Not to mention, once you are done carrying a baby bag, you can remove the pods and use the bag on its own, as most laptops will fit inside the cargo area.

As for creativity, drawing has always been Jacqueline’s passion as she studied art at Doncaster Art College.  She went on to pursue a degree in fashion marketing from Newcastle University in England, as well as teaching arts and crafts and photograph at two summer camps in the U.S.  She still takes all the photographs for PacaPod because she loves doing it and believes a picture can truly speak a 1,000 words.  From the collection, her favorite is the Picos Pack because she is practical and likes having her hands free for her kids.  She adds, “If I’m going to the city then the Sydney as I love the quality and smell of the leather and can expand it to carry more things when I make purchases!

GrazeOne of Pacapod’s best sellers is the Portland diaper bag for its ability to transform between being “roomy” or “compact.”  This bag features a zippered expansion panel in the middle that can adapt to cater all your baby bag needs.  You can simply zip up when you need a compact bag and unzip to easily expand your bag to hold more items.  The exterior is a slick and stylish microfiber with a durable water repellant Grazefinish and accented with leather trim.  Hidden underneath this contemporary exterior is the genius 3in1 'pod system' which allows you to be ultra-organized with your little ones.  For dads, this also makes a great diaper bag because it is classic black and its basic design does not shout to the world that it is a “mommy bag.”  She named her line PacaPod because it is descriptive off what it is – a bag with pods inside to pack.  A bit of background regarding PacaPod is that after cycling around the world with her partner for 18 months and living out of four bike bags, Jacqueline knew that organization was the key.  They packed everything inside little colored stuff sacs so they could quickly identify their things and keep themselves organized.  She shares, “this was a big part of the inspiration when I had my daughters to start PacaPod.”

PacaPod is popular with celebrities in the United Kingdom, including Jo Whiley, Ben Fogle, Greg Rutherford, Rachel Stevens, and Alesha Dixon amongst others.  When it comes to the making of bags, Jacqueline loves leather as it can add so much character to the bag in its own right.  At the same time, she tries to keep everything simple when it comes to design and refrains from incorporating things that will not be useful so that there is less to go wrong for the user.  “I feel that diaper bags get used more heavily than any other type of bag, especially with a first, second and even third baby so everything has to be durable and work properly and efficiently,” she says.  Her personal favorite handbag designers are Mulberry for the quality and Mandarina Duck for simplicity and a contemporary feel.  What will the future hold?  Jacqueline hopes that her company will be in every corner of the globe in five years to ensure that parents have the option to use PacaPod wherever they live.  In her travels abroad, which country was most influential?  Jacqueline said India made her realize just how much we take for granted in our Western worlds and always keeps your feet on the ground.  When she visited Palestine and saw people living under such oppression, it made her appreciate her freedom to live and feel safe.

GrazeIf you are looking for something less luxurious but just as functional and attractive, we suggest the Jura bag.  This classic and simple heritage baby bag is beautifully crafted and has a lightweight design with easy access storage.  Featuring pebble leather trims, chunky silver hardware and ribbon labels, this is a sturdy bag.  This easy to wear bag is a shoulder style and ideal for year-round wear with shirts and tanks in the summer and thick coats or jackets in the fall and winter.  But it also comes with a cross body strap to be worn messenger style.  Jura has all the best ingredients wrapped up in one package with its gorgeous simple design and durability to withstand the test of time.  It is extremely easy to clean as the codura style matte coating material has a hardwearing wipe clean finish.   As with all bags, it contains the 3 in 1 pod system.  The Jura is available in four classic heritage colors of black, dove, navy and cranberry.

Her collection has some long term bags that will stay in the range as classics.  The company also introduces about 25% new bags each season to reflect style or color trends.  Jacqueline wants their customers to be happy to keep using their bag with a second or third baby and get as much life out of them as possible.  She adds, “It’s better for the environment not to encourage more purchases but to be happy with what they have and use it to destruction.  Jacqueline encourages any new parents with an idea of how to do something better to have confidence in the possibility to make it happen.  She adds, “The nursery industry is such a helpful, supportive group of businesses and so many people I know with their own baby brands started with the seed of a great idea they had for a product…..  it all makes parenting a better place.”

GrazePacaPod is one of the best-selling brands in many countries as they are quite established overseas.  This newcomer to the U.S. is just launching here in the states and is available for purchase at BuyBuy Baby stores and online.  To view the full Pacapod collection and order directly, visit
